And in news that's more sad than snarky
From Chicago Tribune:
EPA backs BP dumping
"BP officials and Indiana regulators contend the refinery's wastewater poses no threat to people or aquatic life."
Okay then--I invite you all to come take a swim with me downstream from the wastewater. What's that? Oh, I'm sorry, I thought you said it posed no threat. Motherfuckers.
"Asked how the BP permit squares with the EPA's repeatedly stated goal of 'virtually eliminating' pollution in the Great Lakes, the world's largest body of fresh surface water, Johnson noted the agency spends hundreds of thousands of dollars every year cleaning up polluted sites around the lakes."
Here's a radical idea: Stop dumping shit in the lake so you won't have to spend hundreds of thousands of dollars a year cleaning up pollution. Shouldn't this be simple enough to calculate?
I'm starting to think The Fox might have had the right idea, but somehow I doubt such brazen acts would result in any net positive effect in today's political climate. We'd probably just see Homeland Security setting up metal detectors and X-ray machines at the beach. Motherfuckers.
